Welcome home
In times of crisis, even the strongest need someone in their corner. For homeless pregnant and parenting women, that advocate is In My Shoes.
You and your child are wanted here.
Unlike other maternity homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, you can live here up to nine months after the birth of your baby. Instead of social workers who come and go, our Residential Core Team Members share their lives with you by living onsite full time. We also provide the relational, emotional, and financial training you need for successful living. And we do it all in a community of faith, hope, and love.

Meet Jessica
Jessica was six months pregnant and in need of shelter before she searched online for “housing pregnant women.” Nothing turned up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Then her boss ran the same search and found In My Shoes.
“The key,” Jessica says, “was that you would stay with your baby for nine months at In My Shoes.”
When she arrived, Jessica was surprised by the amenities: a 10,000-square-foot home with plenty of privacy, comfortable common areas, a prayer chapel, and all the supplies she and her baby needed.
She was also surprised by how quickly she formed strong relationships with the other mothers and the staff. She credits resources like grieving classes and a dedicated advocate who encouraged her spiritual growth for helping turn her life around.
“I was broken down, but now I’m accepted,” Jessica says. “In My Shoes is like a family. We build each other up because we love each other.”
