Mission Staff Benefits
Our member benefits are designed to support and enhance your experience while making a positive impact on our community. As a Mission Staff member you will receive valuable training and life experience to develop your personal and professional skills, as well as additional benefits that will ensure your well-being and growth throughout your service term.
Monthly Living Stipend: Mission Staff members receive a monthly living stipend of $1500, allowing you to cover basic expenses outside of housing, food, and transportation.
Room and Board: Housing and access to community food are provided for all moms and Core Team members.
Health Insurance Reimbursement: We offer up to $300 a month reimbursement for health insurance costs. Core Team members are able to find the health insurance plan that works best for them.
Cell Phone Reimbursement: We offer up to $25 a month reimbursement for cell phone costs. We recognize that you’ll likely be using your cell phone for work purposes during the week, and we want to subsidize that by providing this reimbursement.
Biannual Retreats: Connect with fellow members and recharge during our biannual retreats. These events provide an opportunity to reflect, learn, and build supportive relationships with your teammates and leadership staff.
Weekly Day Off: Mission Staff Members receive a weekly day off in addition to the night on either side. We strongly encourage Mission Staff Members to stay at the Day-Off Apartment (see below) in order to unwind and separate from the business of the house.
Vacation Days & Personal Time: Take time to relax and recharge with vacation days and personal time off. We believe in the importance of work-life balance and encourage our members to prioritize their well-being in order to thrive throughout their service term. To support this Mission Staff members receive 24 vacation days to use throughout the year in addition to their weekly day off.
Access to Day Off Apartment: Our program provides access to a day-off apartment where you can unwind, recharge, and engage in recreational activities during your downtime free of work-related interruptions. You also have access to a pool and gym at the apartment complex.
Access to Community Vehicles: In My Shoes provides vehicles for members and staff to utilize in carrying out service activities. Vehicles are also generally available for Core Teammembers’ personal use on days off (within the DFW area) and when taking personal time away from the home.
Individual Counseling Reimbursement & Group Processing Sessions: We understand that challenges will arise during your service term, so we proactively offer opportunities for group processing sessions to ensure your emotional well-being is supported throughout the duration of service. Since many Core Team members prefer specific individual counselors, we provide a reimbursement of up to $130 a month for individual counseling.
Education Award: Upon completion of your service term, you will receive an Education Award of $5,000. This award can be used to further your education or pay off existing student loans, opening doors for your future endeavors.
Training and Professional Development:
Through our comprehensive training program, Core Team members are trained in:
-Conflict de-escalation and resolution
-Motivational Interviewing
-Love and Logic
-Best practices for working with vulnerable populations
-Substance use prevention and interventions
-Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum support
