Give life
When you give to In My Shoes, you save two lives. That’s because we support both the expectant mother and her child.
We’re not a “shelter.”
We’re a maternity home for the most vulnerable.
We take a holistic approach that includes relational, emotional, financial, and spiritual development. We help struggling women change their life trajectories by making self-sufficiency practical. They succeed and bring their children along with them.

Protecting at-risk women and their children requires an investment. Every little bit goes a long way:
- $50: bus passes for one mother each month
- $250: Live-in Advocate for one family each month
- $400: groceries for the house each month
- $500: group counseling for all mothers each month
- $1,000: safe space for one family each month

Please consider donating in-demand items:
- Cleaning supplies: multi-purpose cleaner, floor cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, vinegar
- Household items: laundry detergent, baby laundry detergent, dryer sheets, clothing hangers
- Hygiene products: shaving razors, feminine pads, shampoo for textured hair, face wash
- Items for mothers: pregnancy pillows, prenatal vitamins, make-up
- Items for babies: diapers, infant car seats, baby gates, baby sunblock

Meet Bill
When Bill first heard about In My Shoes several years ago, he was immediately intrigued.
“Women who are homeless are an underserved population,” he says. “The more I learned about In My Shoes, the more I came to support its mission of providing a caring community for the most vulnerable.”
Community comes from Residential Core Team Members living onsite with mothers and their children full-time, a departure from the “night manager” approach favored by other maternity homes. “In My Shoes core team members develop deeper relationships than any social worker,” he says. “That means a lot to women with little to no stability.”
Bill quickly became a regular donor and hasn’t looked back since.
“The mission of In My Shoes is critical,” he says. “The organization gives donors like me an opportunity to overcome the darkness in our world with hope.”
