Mission Staff Benefits

As a Mission Staff Member at In My Shoes, you'll receive benefits designed to support your journey of service, growth, and community living. We want you to thrive-personally, professionally, and spiritually-while making a real impact.
Monthly Living Stipend: You'll receive a $1,500 monthly stipend to cover your personal expenses beyond housing, food, and transportation.
Room and Board: Enjoy comfortable housing and access to shared community meals-so you can focus on serving, not stressing about groceries.
Health Insurance Reimbursement: We'll reimburse up to $400/month for the health insurance plan that fits you best.
Cell Phone Reimbursement: Because you'll use your phone for work (and life), get up to $25/month back on your cell phone costs.
Rest & Recharge: Take a weekly day off (plus the night before and after) and make the most of our dedicated Day-Off Apartment-complete with pool and gym access-so you can truly unwind and come back refreshed.
Vacation Days & Personal Time: Prioritize your well-being with 24 vacation days throughout the year, in addition to your weekly day off.
Connection & Community: Build relationships and reflect during our biannual retreats-time to recharge, learn, and connect with your fellow Mission Staff and leadership.
Access to Community Vehicles: Use our vehicles (with a valid license) for service activities and, on your days off, for personal errands within the DFW area.
Emotional Well-being: We offer up to $130/month for individual counseling and provide regular group processing sessions for the staff, because caring for others starts with caring for yourself.
Education Award: Upon completing your service term, you can receive a $5,000 Education Award to use for future studies or to pay down existing student loans.
Training & Development: Grow your skills through hands-on training in areas like conflict resolution, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, pregnancy and infant support, and community advocacy-preparing you for whatever comes next, whether in ministry, social services, or beyond.
